LOCATION

The Alava Cycle Paths and Green Routes TSP is a land-use planning document promoted by the Territorial and Urban Planning Service of the Provincial Council of Alava, with the technical assistance of KREAN, which plans a double network of cycle paths and green routes that structure the entire territory of Alava.

The dual network of cycle routes and green itineraries has several objectives: to connect rural and urban areas in order to achieve territorial balance, to promote sustainable mobility and eco-recreational activities in contact with nature: daily and leisure mobility, to configure a continuous territorial network by creating new routes and/or restoring singular paths of cultural and scenic wealth, to enhance the value of the Natural, Historical and Cultural Heritage of Alava and to connect the Historical Territory of Alava with other neighbouring territories, giving continuity to interprovincial and international itineraries.

To this end, the development of 11 cycle routes is planned to resolve the daily and obligatory mobility and 50 green itineraries which, in addition to providing a response to daily mobility, are linked to mobility for leisure, tourism and access to the natural environment.
