With all the industrial warehouses 100% occupied by clients, Arasur has begun the expansion of the intermodal logistics platform by urbanising its southern phase, building a one-kilometre road that will make more consolidated industrial land available. MERLIN Properties' new data centre campus will be located on one of these more than 150,000m² plots, with three data centre buildings and an administrative building, as well as an electrical substation that will provide power to the campus. This new infrastructure is located at the confluence of high-speed fibre optic lines, including the ultra-low latency connection to North America and the data hubs of Northern Europe.

MERLIN Properties, in partnership with Endeavour subsidiary Edged Spain, offers colocation and build-to-scale data centre solutions for service providers, enterprises and the cloud.

Sustainability

Each MERLIN Properties data centre developed with Edged reduces energy consumption by 75% compared to the global average - even in the hottest climates - and each is associated with new renewable energy projects. The centres obtain renewable energy 24 hours a day, mainly through a combination of solar and wind PPAs with huge on-site batteries.

On the other hand, traditional data centre cooling consumes billions of litres of water, putting significant pressure on local resources. To address this growing problem, Edged uses a modular, closed-loop cooling system that supports high-density loads but does not use water.
