Synopsis:

EKIAN is the result of joint public-private work between EVE (Basque Energy Agency) and KREAN.

When it opened on 27 January 2020, EKIAN became the largest solar energy park in the Basque Country. A commitment to clean energy and energy transition in the Basque Country.

It is located in the historical territory of Álava, at the southernmost point of the Basque Country. It occupies a plot of land in the ARASUR industrial estate in Ribera Baja, covering an area of 55 hectares.

With an overall investment of 24 million euros, the EKIAN farm has 67,000 panels of 355 watts each. The installed power is 24 million watts, doubling the photovoltaic power installed in the Basque Country, with a generation capacity of 40,000 million watts per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 15,000 families.
