By means of strategic acquisitions and organic growth, Bunge is building brands in key growth markets. In 2006 it reorganised its assets in the Peninsula, closing three old soya plants and building two new, efficient  plants in Cartagena and Bilbao, which, together with those in Barcelona and Lisbon, provide the company with a prominent position in the processed soya bean market. 

The involvement of KREAN in the projects at the Bilbao Port plant has enabled it to subsequently work, not only at this plant, but also at other plants on the Iberian Peninsula and, especially, in Italy, on the expansion of the Porto Cortsini, as well as Ravenna in Italy. Detailed engineering and supervision work carried out for over three years in a major undertaking to increase processing capacity, improve efficiency in port logistics and reduce environmental impact.
