The Spanish Climate Change Office verifies the offsetting of KREAN's carbon footprint through the BOSQUE GALICIA I project.
As we did last year, we have offset our carbon footprint through an absorption project recognised by the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC). On this occasion, 163Tn of CO2 have been removed from the BOSQUE GALICIA I project managed by CO2 Revolution.
This is a reforestation project of 98.89 hectares in the community of neighbouring forests of Mano Común de Couso, Concello de Avión, Orense. This reforestation aims to achieve the ecological restoration of the area, contributing to mitigate the effects of climate change through carbon capture and storage. In addition, the new stand will play a fundamental role in soil protection, reducing the risk of water erosion and improving soil infiltration conditions.
Between 2023 and 2024 KREAN has offset 345Tn of remaining CO2 footprint, mainly corresponding to emissions from office-to-office and office-to-site mobility. Our offices no longer generate indirect emissions thanks to the exclusive use of photovoltaic electricity generated from our EKIAN plant.
This effort reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change, integrating responsible practices in our group.
