The San Sebastian Tramway Company (Dbus), the company that manages urban public transport in the city of San Sebastian, presented ‘Bideberdea: towards a 100% electric and sustainable future’, a commitment that will culminate in 2030 with a 100% electric fleet, at an institutional event held at Tabakalera on 4 November.
Bideberdea is the commitment of Dbus and the Donostia/San Sebastian City Council to convert public transport into a clean, silent service with a better service through its new Dbus ZERO buses.
To achieve this, over the next six years Dbus will undertake the biggest transformation in its history with the decarbonisation not only of its fleet, but also of the entire infrastructure that supports its operation.
In this sense, KREAN is managing the electrification and adaptation works of the depot building, which consists of: the layout of an electricity line from the Egia distribution transformer substation to the vicinity of the depot for approximately 1.5 kilometres, where a sectioning centre has been located. From this switching centre, distribution to the parking spaces in the car parks of the main Dbus building will begin, as well as the installation and commissioning of chargers and inverted pantographs for charging the buses in the roof car park.
Similarly, Dbus has once again placed its trust in KREAN, awarding it the contract for the second phase of the electrification of the outdoor car park that will serve the buses for the new BEI (Intelligent Electric Bus) line that will cover the Gros-Amara-Miramon route of the current line 17.
