The new Data Centre, in which KREAN has carried out the design and construction management, is the first inside the project to develop the Bilbao-Arasur Data Center Campus which, once fully completed, will have a potential capacity of 300 MW IT, making it the largest campus in Spain, one of the largest in Europe, and the largest ever designed by MERLIN Properties and adapted to the needs of Generative AI.

MERLIN Properties, one of the largest real estate companies in the Iberian Peninsula, in strategic alliance with Edged Energy, aims to build a network of ultra-energy efficient Data Centres (DCs). The Project is located on a plot of land of more than 150,000 m2 in the Arasur Logistics Platform (Rivabellosa, Araba), where the Data Centre Campus will be developed. The relevance of the location is explained by the confluence of the high-speed fibre optic lines, including the ultra-low latency connection with North America and the data hubs of northern Europe.

The first building (DC3), with almost 24.000m2 and 3 levels, is distributed in a Data Hall area, an administrative area and the generators area. Furthermore, the next building, the new DC2, is already being planned in collaboration with KREAN.
