The TSP CRGI, a territorial planning instrument that plans the development of the network of cycle routes and green itineraries in Alava, articulates several objectives: to connect the rural environment with urban areas, in the interests of territorial balance, to promote sustainable mobility and eco-recreational activities in contact with nature: daily and recreational mobility, configuring a continuous territorial network by creating new routes and/or restoring singular paths of cultural and cultural richness, enhancing the value of Alava's Natural, Historical and Cultural Heritage and connecting the Historical Territory of Alava with other neighbouring territories, giving continuity to interprovincial and international itineraries.
To this end, the development of 11 cycle routes is planned to resolve daily and obligatory mobility and 50 green routes which, in addition to providing a response to daily mobility, are linked to mobility for leisure, tourism and access to the natural environment.
