ADI Data Center Euskadi awards KREAN the project for the new data processing centre (DPC) building in Gipuzkoa

Data Center Euskadi (ADI) is a public-private company, owned by the Basque Government, Teknei Group, Euskaltel, Dominion, Gertek, and joined by Kutxabank, Iberdrola, Mondragon and the provincial councils of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.

The new DPC building will be located in the Garaia Technology Park in Arrasate-Mondragon, Gipuzkoa, and will be able to house up to 3MW of IT equipment in two rooms. These rooms will be equipped in phases depending on the commercialisation of the services. The entire building has more than 5,000 m² of floor space.

The aim of the project is to provide the territory with a new technological infrastructure at the service of its area of influence that will allow companies and institutions to have a large storage capacity for information in the cloud, artificial intelligence, IoT and others, to facilitate their technological-digital transition processes in a sustainable and close way, under criteria of excellence, reliability, scalability, sustainability and proximity.

This infrastructure will enable the proliferation of an ecosystem of digital companies with the consequent economic and social impact derived from the generation of employment, wealth, digital transformation and progress. This project responds to the ‘Strategy for the Transformation of the Basque Country 2025’, approved by the Basque Government in 2021, a country project that values the strategic importance of Data management and its sovereignty for any organisation.
