Donostialdea metro

THE PROJECT
Donostialdea metro
LOCATION
Donostia-San Sebastián

KREAN, in a joint venture with ASMATU, is providing technical assistance to the Works Management of Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS) in the completion of the works of Phase II of the Construction Project of the Miraconcha-Easo section of the Donostialdea Metro.

The section is 1,943 m long and is almost entirely underground. It connects with the section I Lugaritz-Miraconcha on the vertical of Paseo Duque de Baena, running in a north-easterly direction, developing a curve under the La Concha beach, arriving at La Concha Station, located in the surroundings of Paseo de la Concha and Buen Pastor, and with another curve it heads towards Easo Station, located in the vicinity of the current Amara station, before continuing until it connects in the open air with the existing double track at Morlans.

The layout seeks an optimal solution between the two main variables that affect it: on the one hand, the need to achieve an urban insertion of stations that can capture the expected passenger demand; and, on the other hand, the need for its elevated layout to always be sufficiently embedded in the rocky massif, so that its execution by mining methods is feasible.

These works complete the construction of the new double-track Miraconcha-Easo tunnel, including the infrastructure and installations. The Centro-La Concha station, which will serve the central area of Donostia, including the Centro, Gros, Egia, Miraconcha and Parte Vieja areas, and the Easo station, which will serve the central area of Donostia, including the Amara Viejo, Aiete, Centro and Amara Nuevo areas, will also be completed. The works also include the construction of ventilation shafts, pumping stations and the completion of the inter-station emergency exit.

The budget for the works amounts to € 57,894,745, including VAT, with a completion period of 42 months.
