Mahou San Miguel is a 100% Spanish family-owned company, leader in the Spanish beer sector with a production market share of more than 32%. It has 10 breweries, eight in Spain and two in the USA, four water sources with bottling plants and a team of around 4,000 professionals.
It boasts more than 130 years of tradition, beginning with the creation of Mahou in 1890. In the year 2000, Mahou acquired San Miguel. In 2004, it acquired the Reina brand from the Canary Islands and, in 2007, Cervezas Alhambra. Over the last decade, it has diversified its business with the purchase in 2011 of Solán de Cabras, and its entry into new categories such as cider in 2020.
KREAN, specialising in services for the Agri-Food industry, through a division specialising in beverages (Fillpack Engineering), has assisted in the design and project management of several initiatives at its plants and logistics centres throughout Spain, working with the brewery to adapt its plants and logistics centres to the new demands of the market and the constant innovation that the company is carrying out. It also assisted in the design, assembly and start-up of the new production and logistics centres, from the conception phase through to the operational handover, supporting them in defining the production, packaging and storage processes.
The most important projects in which KREAN has recently been involved for Mahou San Miguel are:
- The new LA SALVE brewery, Bilbao.
- The Automated Warehouse in the Alovera Logistics Centre.
- Various initiatives and reforms at the Alovera Plant.
- Warehouse and freight logistics at Manantial Fuente del Arca.
- Warehouses and restorations at the Cordoba plant.
- Production modifications at the Burgos plant and the Solán de Cabras plant.
- Alterations in the packaging area of the Malaga plant.
