The aim of the project is to develop the basic architectural proposal and the specifications of the architectural, energy, environmental, functional and economic model of a high-density, vertical eco-district in the San Josepe quarry, once its exploitation has come to an end.

The project aims to recover, from an environmental and landscape point of view, a quarry located near the urban centre of Mondragón, based on a new eco-neighbourhood, adapted to the legislation on Climate Change and with almost zero energy consumption ("Low2 no carbon") and architecturally innovative.

The project site has a surface area of 84,335 m2 and a total buildable area of 153,000 m2, with some 700 dwellings.
