LOCATION

Assessment of the contribution of the Urban Upgrading Programme to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

A tool for measuring GHG emissions and climate change adaptation benefits has been developed for green infrastructure projects.

Promoter: GIZ German Development Cooperation Agency

Synopsis:

Specifically, the positive impacts and climate, social, economic and environmental benefits of green infrastructure within Mexico's Federal Urban Upgrading Programme and the assessment of urban climate action in Mexico and its linkage to NDCs have been analysed.

The value of this user-friendly tool is to be able to assess the benefits of incorporating Green Infrastructure elements in urban projects at the project drafting stage, and to be able to estimate the potential benefit generated in future Urban Upgrading Programme projects.
