KREAN has carried out the official projects for obtaining construction licences, such as the Activity Project, the Simplified Environmental Impact Study, the Major Accident Study and the Execution Project. KREAN has also carried out the detailed engineering of the control building, all the civil works of the plant and the fire alarm and lightning protection system. In addition, during the construction of the plant, it was responsible for the project management and supervision of the construction of the civil works and, on completion, it carried out the projects for the legalisation of the plant for the commissioning of the facilities.
LINDE IBERIA is the subsidiary in Spain and Portugal of the leading international group in the production and distribution of industrial and medical gases. The company has invested heavily in these facilities since construction began in October 2021.
The plant is a logistics hub serving customers in the centre and north of the peninsula. The new plant supplies medical gases to hospitals and other gases to the entire industrial network of the area, with products adapted to the metal, food, chemical and energy sectors, as well as environmental conservation, research and science.
This is a plant for separating air into its components: oxygen, nitrogen and argon. The first step in the process is to filter the air, which is then compressed in the compressor and cooled with water in direct or indirect contact cooling towers. After the condensed water has been removed with a droplet filter ("Demister"), the air is fed into a zeolite adsorption bed where water vapour, carbon dioxide and other impurities are removed. The separation of the air components is achieved by cryogenics, and the separation takes place in rectification columns, called "Coldbox". Once separated, the gases are stored for shipment.
