IRIZAR is the world's leading business group in the bus and coach sector. With a turnover of over 550 million euros and a presence in more than 90 countries on all five continents, the group's involvement in the electric vehicle sector has transformed its business and today it is also a leader in electronics, ITS solutions and rotating machinery.
Its commitment to electromobility had to be reflected in the Architecture of its new manufacturing plant, so the formalisation of its project was resolved by means of light materials (micro-perforated shaped sheet metal in the visible areas) and continuous materials (seeking formal integrality) emulating the dynamism and symbolism of movement and aerodynamics adopted by electric public transport service vehicles.
The new Aduna factory is a flagship centre for the IRIZAR Group in terms of R&D and manufacturing, and its design reflects the company's commitment to technology and its vocation for Industry 4.0. The foundation for this is connectivity, control and monitoring of systems based on the analysis of data collected in the plant.
The use of BIM technology in the project allowed, among other things, the detection and correction of errors at an early stage of the project, at the same time as visualising the building realistically in three dimensions or even in augmented reality and, of course, designing in a completely sustainable way.
This has enabled both IRIZAR and KREAN to improve the quality of the project, reduce time and costs, and also improve understanding and comfort and, as a result, bring great added value to the Building project.
